Hello! I'm Steven Tsang, the proud owner and creative force behind Sparks Films. My journey into the world of cinematography and film direction is a bit unconventional. Unlike many in the industry, my academic background is not in film, but in computer science. This path was chosen under the traditional belief that it would lead to a stable and prosperous career.
However, my true passion has always been in the visual arts. Ever since I was young, I've been fascinated by photography. The ability to capture moments, to tell stories through a lens, always intrigued me. Despite being cautioned that photography was no way to make a living, I couldn't help but be drawn to it.
It was only after college, having spent years immersed in the world of computers and logic, that I realized my heart lay elsewhere. I discovered the realm of cinematography and directing, where I could combine my technical skills with my artistic vision. This realization was a turning point in my life. I dove headfirst into learning everything I could about film, not through traditional education, but through real-world experience, self-study, and a relentless drive to master my craft.
Founding Sparks Films was the culmination of this journey. It's a place where I bring my visions to life, where I can experiment and innovate. Here, I combine the precision of my computer science background with the creative flair of my photographic passion. Every project is a new adventure, a new story to tell.
